Harry, Hermoine and Ron discuss the possibility that Dumbledore set them up to protect the stone. We know now that, yes, Dumbledore is a child abusing prat and he did, indeed, do that, but it's neat to see this early the threads of that plotline.

I wonder if Dumbledore saw himself as Teh Glorious Overlord when he looked in the Mirror of Erised, or if he really did see socks.

So I printed out the tables that I received (with much thanks again!) and opened up a raw doujinshi to see what I could see. It would probably help if I knew more definitions of Japanese words than I do, but the sound effects and sex noises are pretty easy.

Thus far, I've translated these I've understood:

ka - sfx for exercise
ha - sfx for heavy breathing during sex
don - sfx for tada!
Aa - Yes.
Aaaaa - yesyesyesyesyes! sfx for sex.
Beru beri - Blueberry in kata
Oi - oi.

Other letters I'm picking out, but again, since I have no clue what the word means it doesn't do much good yet. Like what's the word or sfx for "a tsu"/"ha a tsu" during sex? Is it just sounds? And does "po tu/tsu n" mean empty or dark in sfx?

What I really need to find is a raw/romanji/translated script, like a rosetta stone of common dialogue in manga. And I also should stop futzing around and just memorize the dang table, because knowing is half the battle. Go Joe!

Harry Potter, Samwise Gamgee, and Demetri Martin
I've started reading the Harry Potter books again, finally. And as I'm reading year one, I'm going Is this new? because I sure as silly wand-waving don't remember some of the things that happened! Like the scuffle had on the Hogwarts Express between Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, Ron and Harry over Harry's candy. Or how Hagrid doesn't even introduce himself or say a proper "Nice to meet you" when he barges into the shack on the rock, instead booms "Happy Birthday, Harry!" and starts in the middle of a conversation like they're the best of chums already. Or how Professor Quirrel does shake Harry's hand in the Leaky Cauldron.

It makes it like I'm reading it for the first time all over again.

My question is why? It's not like he lives here. He's from South Bend, and that's only 30 miles away. Why isn't he doing the SB or associated suburbs parades? Did he run out of gas on the way from O'Hare to SB? Did the Hollywood writer's strike deplete his pockets that badly? Does he owe someone that big of a favor?

Am I going to get off my ass tomorrow and go see him?

I'm noticing a LOT of Who posts today. I can only assume that means it was a really good ep. I haven't seen it yet but thanks to

settiai I'll be able to today.
I'm trying very hard not to spoil myself and read about it. So, Instead, I'm going to check my email, go to WOW and play a few and then maybe go to the storage and get some boxes (we got a little red wagon now, so that'll make it easier. :) )

Also, I might actually be able to fix my laptop. All I need now is the money and to find the right parts. :) I'll keep everyone updated on that. It'll take a number of weeks I think though, because we have to get the money together and then get down to Fry's electronics to get the parts. (I need an AC Adaptor, better memory (which can wait), and a little wire from inside the computer that connects the outside power to the computer (I have no idea what it's called.)
So, we'll see. :)

So last night, we went to see "Get Smart": four of us, bopping around the mall looking like scumbags, toothpicks lodged in the corners of our mouths, mumbling mono-syllables, and saying "mmhmm", like an episode of "King Of The Hill".

"Get Smart"? Funny and fun. And Steve Carrell lays a wet one on The Rock . . . not remotely hot, but seriously hilarious. Mmhmm.

An Apology
Dear Friends List,

I would like to apologise for the recent increase in my posts. I am saying sorry as I feel kind of guilty for filling up people's pages with my random fiction of the predominantly femslash variety. I'm afraid to say that it will not be abating any time soon as I seem to have rediscovered my love of writing. Receiving feedback on something I have written is like nothing I have ever experienced before. To know that people are reading and want to read more of my work is like a drug. Finally I feel like a have a real purpose.

So again I say sorry for taking up space and I hope you won't abandon me.
